What is it?A bee safari is a great opportunity to improve your beekeeping by seeing other people’s hives.
One or more members in a local area open the doors to their apiaries and allow us to follow hive inspections led by a guest beekeeper. The guest beekeeper talks about what they find and discusses the methods being used by the beekeeper. Often, a Seasonal Bee Inspector will take the lead and conduct full disease inspections providing everyone with a fantastic opportunity to ensure they recognise diseases that might be in their own hives. There is always plenty of time for chat and refreshments and a long break to enjoy our packed lunches. |
How much does it cost?There is no charge for members of Dean Forest Beekeepers. Attendees are expected to bring their own CLEAN suit, boots, and gloves. Refreshments are included but you should bring your own packed lunch.
