What is it?A bee safari is a great opportunity to improve your beekeeping by seeing other people’s hives.
One or more members in a local area open the doors to their apiaries and allow us to follow hive inspections led by a guest beekeeper. The guest beekeeper talks about what they find and discusses the methods being used by the beekeeper. Often, a Seasonal Bee Inspector will take the lead and conduct full disease inspections providing everyone with a fantastic opportunity to ensure they recognise diseases that might be in their own hives. There is always plenty of time for chat and refreshments and a long break to enjoy our packed lunches. |
When is it?Our next Safari will be in June 2024 at apiaries owned by Gary Grindle (our Apiary Manager). Full location details will be shared with attendees via email.
Due to space restrictions the Safari is limited to a maximum of 20 members. |
