Supporting those in need in our local area
One in five homes in the Forest of Dean and Monmouthshire area are having to rely on charity to feed their families at some point during this time of austerity. As beekeepers, we are food producers and most of us have had bumper crops in the few seasons. If you have a spare jar of honey (or two) that you could donate we would like to gather them together and give them to local food banks (note: must be labelled to UK retail rules).
As we have members from both sides of the border we propose that we would donate to the Forest of Dean (Lydney, Coleford and Cinderford) and Monmouthshire (Monmouth and Chepstow) during alternate months. You can read more about the charities that your kind donations will go to here:
Please bring any donations to any Staunton meetings and Lydney Apiary meetings and give to a member of the committee. Paul Jones will kindly take the jars of honey to the charities for us.
Thank you in advance.
