DSC_3092Dean Forest Beekeepers are again offering their one-day Introductory Beekeeping Course this June The course is taught by  Jim Vivian-Griffiths, a Master Beekeeper and one of our most experienced members.

The day consists of a morning session where Jim provides an overview of what is involved in keeping bees, and an afternoon practical session, looking at bees in their hives in our Lydney apiary.

This course is an excellent introduction to beekeeping, and those who join the association can build on it by attending weekly sessions at our apiary. It will be held on Saturday, 3rd June. The start time is 9.30am for 10.00am, and it will end at about 4.30pm. The cost is £45, which includes coffee, tea and lunch, and the use of protective suits during the practical session.
