Recently Andrew Phillips removed a swarm from the gable end of a house in Bream, and the owner sent him some photos of one of the old Beekeepers in Bream, Teddy Humphries. The photos show Ted in his apiary and were taken in 1948 or 1949.
The size of the hives is interesting as they look to be larger in depth and width than a National but all seem to be the same depth. An original form of Rose Hive perhaps??

Photos supplied and taken by Brian James. Andrew Phillips has more information about the location of the apiary.
