Dean Forest Beekeepers

for beekeepers in the Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley

About us

Dean Forest Beekeepers has over 100 members, of all ages and all levels of experience, and coming from all over the Forest of Dean and lower Wye Valley districts.

We are a branch of Gloucestershire Beekeepers Association , which is affiliated to the British Beekeepers Association.

We hold practical sessions at our Apiary on Thursday evenings every week from April to September, and those sessions allow ideas and methods to be shared and discussed while we are doing the useful work of checking and managing the colonies.

Our evening meetings are arranged to cover a wide range of subjects, and we also arrange an annual Bee Safari where we visit members' Apiaries. In addition we organise trips to events of interest such as the BBKA Convention at Stoneleigh, and social events including an annual barbeque.

Some members have one or two hives, some have over 20, and some have not started beekeeping yet and may never start! Whether you are just beginning with bees, have years of experience, or simply want to join to find out more about these fascinating creatures, you will find a warm welcome in our Association.
